Western Australian Royal Arch Freemasonry celebrated the Installation of First Grand Principal MEm. Comp. DJ (Don) Blair on October 6 2007.In a ceremony rich in pageantry and redolent with symbolism, the First Grand Principal took his obligation of office and then invested the Grand Officers who will serve in his first year of office.Freemasonry is the world's oldest fraternity, where its members are united by a common belief that all men are equal in the sight of God, are free to follow their own religion and are entitled to equal respect, no matter what their social background may be. The Installation Ceremony was followed by a Celebratory Dinner attended by Royal Arch Freemasons from throughout WA, from all the states of Australia and from New Zealand.

MEm. Comp. Blair, a prominent Perth businessman with a career spanning leadership roles in the retail industy and military service, is expected to serve a three year term of office. He paid tribute to the work and example of his predecessor, MEm. Comp. Tony Knight - who overcame a major health obstacle and showed that cancer treatment can work and can be lived with. His example to all who have been involved with him over the last three years has been telling, showing that no matter how large one's personal challenges may be: through personal courage and dignity it is possible to meet and overcome those challenges
